A “Not for Profit Organisation” were scrolling through office fitout inspiration on Instagram and came across Amicus, a click, like and design meeting later they engaged the Amicus team on a Design and Construct basis for their new 515sqm workspace in Brisbane, QLD.
The journey started with Amicus virtually taking this client on a design journey through 3D renders and fly throughs by the Amicus internal design team. Amicus took time to understand the clients core business and values, giving Amicus the base to create a functional workplace brief.
The 515sqm workplace needed to facilitate collaboration and foster communication, along with being inspiring to work within, engaging for their staff, comforting for their clientele, yet still fun and functional. The employee’s now benefit from an engaging breakout area, articulated monitor arms on every workstation, easy access to focus rooms for focus work along with more collaborative spaces such as a new get together VC conferencing system. Being on the top floor of the building, this company wanted to utilise the outer surroundings and height. This was achieved by having exposed ceilings throughout, extenuating the openness of the space along with custom made joinery to house greenery bringing the outside in.
Creative use of mixed finishes makes this space inviting to work in and visit, including a feature walls of black subway gloss tiles contrasting with a brick wall finish, pops of colour through carefully selected furniture, industrial look lights, rounded ceiling features to soften the space and hidden nodes of copper to really giving this space a homely Manhattan loft style look and feel. Amicus hit the mark on all design aesthetics and functional aspects, which resulted in the client loving their new space.
Amicus’s on site management team is an integral part of our value proposition. The site team controlled all on-site inductions, ensuring noisy works were out of hours, full police checks carried out and resolved and co-ordinating the client’s incumbents to ensure risen problems were resolved immediately.
The overall feedback from the client was “They loved it” commenting the space works really well and wins on business objectives, and most importantly they have received positive feedback from all team utilising the space.
