Prep your people for a happy return in 2018

At Amicus our mission is to improve the lives of as many workers globally as we can. We were also #13 on the Great Place to Work list 2016 and 2017 Australian Business Awards Winners for Employer of Choice.

So, hot off the press from the Amicus Employee Experience team, we thought we would share 10 ideas to improve Employees Experience in 2018.

  1. Help your people balance personal and work demands. We love Activity Based Working, our people work anywhere as long as it’s the right place - for the right work - at the right time.

  2. Start a company sports team – in the Sydney, CBD Cook and Phillip Stadium run a number of lunch time competitions ranging from netball, basketball, volleyball and futsal, you could get a team involved in the Corporate Triathlon or Corporate Biathlon or host a Step Challenge. FitBit has a great app with Work Week Hustle and Individual Challenges that engage the team to get active with a whole lot of healthy competition.

  3. Consider hosting appropriate meetings such as ‘Walking Meetings’, enjoy some fresh summer air and watch your team’s productivity skyrocket.

  4. Engage a Mindfulness Coach or App (CalmMind) to provide sessions to your staff and maintain that relaxed, stress free holiday vibe. Our friends at FLO Wellbeing are a great provider of both Mindfulness, Corporate Pilates and Corporate Retreats.

  5. Align your people with the overall vision. Set 100 day goals and have pulse checks. If you’re a leader – ensure you also seek regular feedback.
  6. Provide Healthy Snacks in the staff kitchen. Snack Proud has a delicious and nourishing range.

  7. Engage an Outdoor Trainer to host sessions for your team before work or on lunch breaks or provide a discounted or free gym membership to your people.

  8. Renew your workspace. Workplace design is vital if you want your people to thrive.

  9. Provide growth opportunity to your people by offering an engaging, practical and relevant learning and development offering including on the job learning, mentoring and formal training.

  10. Use technology as an enabler and promote a mobile workforce. We use Microsoft Teams and Lifesize to help keep our workplace connected! In addition we use Flare HR as our Employee Experience Portal, GO1 as our self-directed eLearning portal and LiveHire for our Amicus Talent Community all can be used anytime anywhere from any device.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
