Driven by their exceptional growth and demand for places, ILSC saw an opportunity to expand their business in Melbourne’s CBD. Their driver when working with Amicus and PTID on the design was to encourage forward thinking teaching methods, encouraging collaborative learning and providing the latest technology available to staff and students.

The design of the space incorporates the edgy style and design for which Melbourne is known for. This was implemented through the exposed ceiling grid, feature carpet tiles, custom joinery, and bold graphics along the feature wall. The focal point of the learning facility is “The Street”, a colourful and energetic walk way which runs through the foyer Incorporating ILSC’s trade mark orange and creative features. The floorplan includes both formal and informal meeting spaces, classrooms, staff rooms, new bathrooms and a breakout area which can be expanded by an operable wall to bring staff and students of many cultures together outside of the classroom.

This new, crisp, clean and vibrant language school was constructed within 8 weeks. With its unique colours and features it really is an incredible space. Amicus are very proud of this project, although there were some challenge that surfaced such as tight time constraints and budget, Amicus was able to smoothly resolved these with excellent communication and negotiation to still be able to achieve the clients original design and at the best market price.
