Client Goals

The client’s brief proposed several challenges to Amicus, which included the following:

  1. A practical solution was required to accommodate a large head count with a dense population, which in turn necessitated an increase in building services and security.
  2. Adding to this predicament was Northgate Arinso’s limited budget and their desire to not exceed the landlord’s contribution towards the fitout.
  3. And finally, the lack of DDA toilets on each floor created challenges for the client. Ensuring responsibility lay with the landlord and that no liability would fall on the client was key to maintaining the budget.

Jumping hurdles to achieve Northgate’s objective, Amicus aided a design that complied with the stringent global standard operating procedures with respect to security, whilst ensuring staff had enough flexibility to not feel confined or limited within their workspace. Occupancy would fluctuate on a daily basis but the design revolved around comfortably fitting all staff when the office was 100% occupied.

To keep within the budget, existing furniture was reused and given a clean, fresh new look.

Amicus walked the Client through the entire process from design inception, tender and construction. Regular meetings were held which resulted in a smooth execution and delivery of the project on time and under budget.
