Pragmatic Training Office Fitout

Catering for future growth of rapidly growing business

Project Details

Following a huge success by the National Academy of Beauty in Sydney and Melbourne, Sean Farmer owner of Pragmatic Training made the decision to open a new site in Brisbane to cater for the demand for their Make-up and Beauty courses. Amicus Interiors were engaged prior to the lease being signed, offering their expert advice on two spaces in the Brisbane CBD. The final 1,200sqm location on Levels 23 & 24 of 143 Turbot Street was selected due to its prime location close to train stations, Queen Street Mall along with the buildings recent upgrade, the clean skin tenancy was the perfect blank canvas to apply some Amicus make up too.

Client Goals

Amicus’ design and build brief was to showcase the growing brand of the National Academy of Beauty, the space needed to reflect the course demographic therefore be bright, light filled and contemporary, along with catering for future growth of rapidly growing business.  As the course demographic is predominately females between 18 to 35 years, Amicus decided to embrace the feminine curves which were already inspired by the existing stair case. Entering the level 24 fitout you are greeted by a large curved reception counter, followed by an un-interrupted line of sight leading you through to the curved stair case and the curved walkway linking reception to this area features curved seating for waiting and breakout of students. Finishes were selected with a purpose, featuring a variety of textures and patterns which are drawn from the corporate ‘facetted diamond’ logo, colour pops are not forgotten being introduced with turquoise and ‘lipstick pink’ patterned ottomans throughout the student breakout areas.  The conversational areas are also anchored by more feature pendant lighting, creating a sense of purpose.
