Amicus Interiors refurbishment of the Sydney corporate office, comprising 350 sqm.
‘Work is something you do, not a place you go’ ..... and with any luck, it’s something that you love to do.
Starting with this premise, Amicus Interiors began the journey to develop changes within the business that would enable the team to work better, more effectively and with a better work ethic and culture. The centre of this journey was the refurbishment of Amicus Interior’s Sydney office into an Activity Based Working (ABW) environment.
Increasingly workplace change is being used as a trigger for behavioural and cultural change. By providing more diverse and adaptable areas, staff now have the flexibility to choose their area for quiet work or for collaboration and creativity. By providing a variety of settings, it is beginning to change the habits of how people use their work environment and has already been proven to increase productivity. Each day staff choose a new desk, or area to work from, and at the end of each day, the desks remain empty with all belongings being housed in personal lockers. These changes along with improved break-out facilities, infrastructure and IT enhancements and meeting space options have improved the way the team interact and work together.
Amicus Interiors in collaboration with Sophie Ellen Designs, created a Activity Based Working environment inspired by staff feedback on how they worked and what they required to be motivated and productive. With the goal of shifting how the office space was being utilised as opposed to reducing lettable space, the refurbishment was not only a physical transformation but one that implied a change in culture.
At the end of the day, all workstations are completely clear, no rubbish under the desks, and the place is left feeling brand new ready for the new day ahead.
Following the successful refurbishment of the Sydney office, Amicus Interiors continues to find new ways of enhancing the office which makes it gratifying for staff to simply love what they do!
